Shafer: Have no regrets

I got this forwarded in a long email chain. Raz Shafer of the Madison Action Fund talks about what’s at stake for the nation and how to win the election.

Friends and Fellow TEA Partiers,

We are coming down to the wire. We’re now less than 12 days from the polls closing over most of America. What we do with the remaining time will determine the course of our country for the next 4 years, if not longer.

I want you to take a minute and think about where we are right now. The polls are statistically tied across nearly every battleground state. It’s down to who can turn out the most of their base at this point and the most effective way to do that is door to door walking and phone-banking.

If we turn out more block-walkers and phone-bankers, we win. Obama gets retired. Our country heads back in the right direction. If they turn out more people then we loose…a thought I find hard to bear.

It’s frankly up to you.

What I’m asking you to do is over the next 9 days, carve out some time to block-walk or phone bank. You can do the phone banking from your home computer. We can email you a block-walking list or you can have it delivered to your smart phone. We make it incredibly easy to get engaged. But the time is up to you.

The last thought I want to leave you with is to ask you what it’ll feel like on the morning of November 7th to wake up and realize that we lost, and you could have done more to keep that from happening…

Don’t let that nightmare become reality.
